The WeMuslim: Muslim, Prayer&Qibla app functions as a comprehensive digital resource designed to support daily Islamic practices. It enables users to obtain accurate prayer times based on their current location, complete with customizable Athan reminders, and offers a dedicated Quran Reader featuring the Saudi Medina Edition of the standard Arabic text. The app also provides access to a curated collection of daily Azkar and authentic supplications, alongside tools to facilitate their recitation and repetition, making it a multifaceted tool for managing various faith-based activities.
Accurate Prayer Times and Athan Reminders
WeMuslim provides precise prayer times that adjust according to your current geographical location. Users can set up customizable Athan reminders for each prayer. The app utilizes a FOREGROUND_SERVICE_SPECIAL_USE permission to ensure these prayer time reminders continue to display in the notification bar, even when the app is running in the background.
Quran Reader Features
The app includes a Quran Reader that presents the Saudi Medina Edition of the standard Arabic text. This reader supports chapter bookmarks and automatically saves your progress, allowing you to resume reading from where you left off. To enhance the reading experience, the app requires FOREGROUND_SERVICE_DATA_SYNC permission to continue downloading Quran audio in the background and FOREGROUND_SERVICE_MEDIA_PLAYBACK permission to continue playing Quran audio when not actively in use.
Daily Azkar and Supplications
WeMuslim offers a curated collection of daily Azkar and authentic supplications. The app provides specific tools designed to facilitate the recitation and repetition of these prayers, aiding users in their daily devotional practices.
Qibla Direction Finder
A built-in Prayer Compass within the app assists users in accurately determining the direction of the Kaaba in Mecca. This tool helps ensure correct orientation during prayers, regardless of the user’s location.
Electronic Tasbih Tool
The app incorporates a convenient electronic Tasbih, which includes a visual bead counter. This feature allows users to keep track of their recitations with button control, offering a digital alternative to traditional prayer beads.
Hijri Calendar Integration
WeMuslim supports switching between the Islamic calendar (Hijri) and the Gregorian calendar. This functionality is complemented by reminders for important Islamic festivals, helping users stay informed about significant dates throughout the year.
Users should be aware that standard data charges may apply for app usage, and it is recommended to contact your service provider for details. The app requires foreground service permissions to enable features such as background Quran audio downloads, continuous Quran playback, and persistent prayer time reminders in the notification bar.
With its version 1.4.1 update, the app officially rebranded from WePray to WeMuslim, introducing a refreshed interface and significant performance enhancements to its core engine for a smoother experience. This update also included various bug fixes to improve overall stability.
